There is much to see around the Mineral Wells area. Besides Weatherford, Palo Pinto, Jacksboro,  and the surrounding small towns, there is also the fabled Brazos River. A perennial best seller is John Graves "Goodbye to a River." If you can't visit the river and take your own canoe trip, this great read is the next best thing.
